Another words Spectrum CEO Rutledge, based in Hispanic California, is robbing people based upon race and ethnic origin to quote lower rates to Hispanics. This is another set of criminalities that Spectrum CEO Rutledge engaged in that previously destroyed this country and crippled internet, phone, and tv services to 50% of the country. Charter Communications sucks because the West/SoCal North RVP, allows the VP, Director to overwork their hub managers, bombarding them with unrealistic KPIs that just ripple down to the hub technicians and engineers. When there's an apparent fault caused by headend equipment, the ISP leadership directive is that there was no cause inside the head end hub. This is outright lying to the rest of Network Operations, or its a known dirty little secret that everyone's in on. I'm a Christian, and I do have an issue with a company caring more about everyone's bonus then actually providing a solid product, like uninterrupted internet service, for the amount Charter Spectrum charges, is this too much to ask for?

Well...it's obvious that no one here is a particular fan of Charter-I did what many didn't think to do; I went on LI and contacted every person on the Spectrum board of directors all listed there, emails too-I sent out a broad email to all of them, and sure enough a few got back to me, probably because I told the Los Angeles DA about what they were doing, and their virtual monopoly here in this area-Spectrum responded to the DA with falsehoods and their typical garbage, so whilst that office has understandably very little time these days, Spectrum on the other hand has nothing but time-time to aggravate the living hell out of its customers, breach every promise it makes, and enough to wallow this writer to file a huge class action against them; yes it takes time, but during all that time, the satisfaction of just knowing someone hit back, will be more than enough...attorney will not charge unless we win-typically he does, but he's that certain...

I have had Spectrum for nearly 4 years now since moving to an area where I did not have the option of resuming my AT&T service (which I had for 8 years prior to that.) Spectrum has always been marginal, but my enormous problems started 6 weeks ago when they sent me new equipment and told me to send back the old. They in fact sent a new modem, but not a new router. All hell broke loose and the problem is STILL not fixed. Two technicians have come to my home already. The second one brought a new router. I got yet another router from the Spectrum store and guess what? The problem is even worse now. I was doing automatic monthly payments to my credit card but I stopped them. I am not letting them pull $80 a month for internet that does not work. They'll be crediting my bills indefinitely I think - they hate giving refunds but if you hound them enough they'll do it. Really a crying shame that they're the only ISP in this area.

Internet has been going off and on for 2 straight weeks in a row. Today, a Charter Spectrum technician came to 'fix' our modem. Dude says it is an outdated modem, and gives us a new modem to replace the old one. For only five minutes, internet was blazing fast (400+ mbps), much quicker than usual. Five minutes later, speed drops to 14 mpbs and our internet starts going out 10x more than usual. Now, we're right back to square one. The new moden did nothing to fix our internet problems as the uptake in our speed was only 'temporary'. Now, our internet is right back to where it was before the employee came over. Now, after that visit from the technician, our internet is going on and off 10x more than usual. Our internet now goes off at least 20+ times a day. Our internet cuts off, goes back on for a few seconds, then goes right back off again. Spectrum didn't fix anything, they actually made the problem even worse than it was previously. Spectrum broke our internet instead of fixing it. And this visit happened this morning. Our internet is still slow, and now I'm getting disconnected far more frequently. This is truly such a headache for me! I can't believe they sent a technician over, only to have them literally almost destroy our internet! The situation after the visit is much worse now. We're getting disconnected many more times a day, and my internet connection has basically been ruined. I cannot keep taking time out of my day just to wait for this joke of a cable company to 'fix' our internet, only to make it much worse than before. We need more options.

I hit a record of 0.80 download speed today. Where the heck did my promised 200 mbps go? I am getting a fraction of what I am supposed to be getting! This is the slowest my internet speed has been in years. I've never gotten this slow internet connection ever before. Videos on YouTube can only be played up to 240p quality, and playing games online makes me lag constantly. My internet has also completely dropped not once, not twice, but THREE times today alone, and these issues have been happening for a WEEK. SEVEN DAYS IN A ROW. Why am I still paying for this garbage if I can't even use it? I hope they have a good legal team, because I will press charges on Spectrum for constant raunchy internet service.

I work from home and every day, Charter/Spectrum/Garbage's internet connection slows to a crawl and sometimes outright drops. This is frustrating when I'm in the middle of my shift (I work in customer service from home) and as their internet starts to drop in quality, the caller cannot understand me and I'm desperately trying to tell them that my garbage internet is not working. I can't even tell you how many calls I've lost as a result of this nonsense. What's worse is when the internet connection drops completely. I've had one day in which the internet connection dropped
FIVE TIMES during my shift. I was so infuriated, after work I just had to scream at the top of my lungs. I'm not even joking. And even after work, I can't catch a break because the service still slows down and I get disconnected for about 15-20 minutes. This isn't just bad, this is obscene. And their customer service? They're not gonna help you with remotely anything. So, yeah. Just goes to show that Charter/Spectrum/Dogshit is not worth your money, even if they're your only option in town. And if I happen to lose my remote work position due to Charter then I hope for their sake they have a good legal team because I will press charges (and I ain't kidding either).

Spectrum is the absolute worst internet service provider I've ever had. My internet connection consistently cuts out on me every day, and I am always kicked off of my games every day which results in me getting banned from online play for no reason at all. I get extremely high ping in games and streaming services start buffering, same with YouTube. My internet is raunchy every day and I can't do what I like because Spectrum is constantly disconnecting me from my internet multiple times a day. This is the 5th day in a row that our internet connection has been cut off for a short period of time that feels like an eternity. I swear, the internet at our local ice cream shop is 10x more reliable than Spectrum will ever be. In the midst of a global pandemic, Spectrum is messing with people's livelihoods and business by providing unreliable service that always seems to have issues every single day of the week. Whoever is running the company is ruining everything for both customers and employees, and is going to eventually drive this company to bankruptcy. The CEO of Spectrum does not know what he is doing and it won't be long until Spectrum is once again completely non-existent.

The first one we got we have for a while, then all of a sudden stopped working after years of usage. All that was under it was nothing but dust and that was basically it, it never worked at all, and we had to get rid of the old cable box because it stopped workinng, and god knows why it did since it was working fine the previous day. No issues the day before, then all of a sudden it has issues turning on.

The second box we got was a BRAND-NEW, SEALED cable box. We opened it up and plugged it in to the wall plug, and managed to get it on aftrer 10 MINUTES of struggling with the wall plug to get the damn thing to turn on. When we got it on, the thing was stuck on the "ONE MOMENT PLEASE" screen for hours and hours and would not set upt at all. It was completely stucl and would not set up at all, so then we had to call a technician over at Spectrum to get the damn cable box looked at, but they said it would take 1 week for them to arrive. So, no TV for a WHOLE WEEK until Monday arrived.

On Monday, the techincian finally arrived and came to look at our box. She said it was not recieving a picture because it was just stuck. She tried to get the damn thing fixed but to absolutely no avail. She had to take the useless cable box with her to find another unregistered cable box that we could use. Then she came back with the new cable box that was unregistered, and she set it up and got it working. I bet you can expect what happens next. Damn thing doesn't work! We couldn't (and still can't) get the stupid Guide open, and it even also once shut off unexpectedly without any of us near the box at all! After that, Guide still wouldn't open.

That is a total of THREE defective cable boxes, and a total of TWO over the course of just a WEEK! I am ending my service with this company!

Incompetence and greed are the ONLY two words that can describe Spectrum perfectly. My service is out or goes down on a almost daily basis, and it doesn't matter what I am doing - I will always be booted off of my Internet regardless, even when the weather is nice. Internet becomes slow as a snail, or I am booted off for countless hours with nothing to do at all. I get a massive ping in games, I can't watch movies, I can't do anything. Every day my "service" is borderline unusable. Spectrum is also stupid enough to increase my price in some way because all they've ever done is increase the already stupidly expensive bill for cable, and then just don't do anything else. Spectrum is incompetent with its customers. Every day I call Customer Support for some stupid issue they created, they don't even try to help and just tell me stuff like: "Are you sure your router is not having issues?", or "Your router is at fault". The stupid reps know next to nothing when it comes to having a stable connection. I have also stated multiple times that I want our cable subscription cut off, and they do the complete opposite of what I asked them to do, and they then increase the price of my already stupidly expensive bill. I can't do anything at all almost every single day and all Spectrum does is slaps me across the face, then blames my router for issues of which they created because they are too stupid to realize that. And Spectrum is so greedy it should honestly be made illegal. All their commercials ever say is that they just talk about how "great" Spectrum is, and they they have 99% reliability and other dishonest lies. Their website also says they have no data caps (Yet ANOTHER lie!), they never throttle speed (Dishonesty!), and they provide the standard 200mpbs speed that other ISPs have (What a load of CRAP!). Everything Spectrum says is blatant lies and dishonest marketing. It's used to absolutely fleece customers and trick them into buying a really crappy service that borderline never works. And the cable doesn't even have any good channels, unless you waste even more money for Silver or Gold, which adds even MORE channels that aren't worth watching! It's just complete dishonesty and a total lie in every sense of the word, because they say that have a lot of channels that are worth watching. What a lie! I have barely found a single good channel to watch, because most of the channels are just filler channels with boring shows. Whoever is running Spectrum nowadays is completely ruining everything that made Charter one of the better ISPs. As soon as the merger with Time Warner Cable happened, Charter did an absolute 180 and started overcharging its customers, throttling people's internet every single day, taking away a majority of the good channels on their cable subscription, and other crap. Spectrum is now the equivalent of an off-brand Comcast, and all they ever seem to pump out nowadays is garbage service while raking in huge profits. My hotspot is 10x faster than this garbage, and I have more stuff to watch on Peacock, Netflix, Hulu, HBO Max, among other streaming services. I am two seconds away from cancelling Spectrum and moving to another state where Google Fiber is available, because in my town, Spectrum is the only option available. The more Spectrum pisses people off, the more revenue they will lose. As soon as I cancel my service, Spectrum will no longer profit off of me.

Literally garbage 99.99% of the time. I can't get anything done, even when it is important for me. My internet on Spectrum lags very frequently, I get kicked out of games 2 or 3 times a day, pages load slower, and downloading files are near impossible to do. And streaming on services like Netflix, Hulu, Disney+, etc. is a living nightmare on Spectrum. Movies and shows constantly buffer, and then the quality goes from beautiful, to a 16op-styled mishmash of pixels. Also, Spectrum is constantly forcing us to pay for more than what we asked for. We asked to get rid of cable, but they kept cable, and added a bunch of stuff we never wanted nor asked for during the call. We also can't get any reasonable Customer Support reps to help us with issues because all of them know next to nothing about having a stable connection. I am so sick and tired of hearing the same "Put a pin in the back of the router, and restart it" crap because it never works. Most cable channels are locked to absurd packages, rendering it impossible to watch any good channels besides the boring ones you are forced to use with a basic cable subscription. And every month, we get random increases to our already expensive bill. And moist importantly, the commercials are downright lies,. and they appear so frequently they might as well be the only thing advertised, even when we are already using Spectrum. These commercials keeps talking about how great Spectrum is, and they always focus on the positives, and never focus on any of the cons, which makes them very untrustworthy. And Spectrum promised they would increase our internet speed and make it faster. Well, here I am, still complaining about issues with my internet, because every week I get disconnected almost 24/7, and sometimes even for hours at a time. Spectrum is a group of unforgiving heartless monsters that do anything to screw you over and piss you off. There is barely a single good thing about Spectrum, let alone if any. Spectrum used to be so much better, and they would still have been better if the ghouls at Time Warner Cable had not merged with Charter Communications. Time Warner Cable sucks in its own right, and the fact they merged with a once-good ISP makes my skin crawl. Before the merger, Charter was amazing. It was decent, fairly priced, good Customer Support reps, had good channels, and not as frequent internet problems. Well, after the merger with TWC, Charter flipped an absolute 180. More frequent problems with internet, barely any good channels (unless you pay for Spectrum TV Silver or Gold), terrible Customer Support reps, and has random increases to a $89/year bill. We pay premium for this, and this is what we get in retune? Ridiculous! After years of being with Charter, I am about ready to end my service with them, they absolutely suck nowadays! Might as well be paying for Verizon FIOS or Google Fiber.

I am so close to cancelling my subscription with Charter. My internet connection is consistently slow practically all the damn time and I get disconnected every other day. It's been like this for a over a whole year now, and Spectrum's price hikes are outrageous, especially with Charter's cable subscription, which has barely any good channels! I have ran numerous speed tests on speedtest.net and I am getting less than a quarter of Spectrum's actual internet speeds. They say I get 200mpbs, but download speed is at a new record of 6mpbs, and their Customer Support reps know next to nothing when it comes to having a stable connection. They usually always tell me my router is at fault, and that I have to put a pin in the back of the router, and restart it to see if the issues have been fixed. Well, guess what? After doing this numerous times, my internet is still running at a snail's pace! They don't e I've been disconnected on an almost daily basis, and I have literally had enough of this. I am literally about to cancel my service with Charter and switch to Verizon, because they are much faster. Spectrum couldn't even maintain a signal if it was in their pocket.

However, as soon as I go on this website to vent, my internet 'suddenly' works again, and all other pages just instantly start to load quicker. Crazy how these guys leave this website alone but throttle pretty much everything else. If your internet keeps experiencing garbage speeds from this sad excuse of an internet service provider, just type in this website and your pages should just instantly load. I am so close to cancelling Charter and switching to Verizon.

I get frequently disconnected from my internet on an almost daily basis. I can't do anything without a unknowingly long disconnection taking place. Can't play games, can't get the hottest and latest news, can't do anything. I am being controlled by them. Spectrum thinks it is too big to fail. MySpace thought the exact same thing, and got absolutely destroyed to oblivion by Facebook. I don't understand why Spectrum just doesn't provide the service speeds they advertise. In fact, why is every ISP like this? I think Comcast and Spectrum might get along pretty well.

Frequent throttling and disconnections every single week, constant idiotic customer support, and just flatout a terrible experience in general. They lied to you so they could bring into their grasp and constantly overcharge you for raunchy service. And good luck getting Spectrum to check for any flaws on their side. They don't even bother to do it. You are always told your router is at fault. How the hell is the router at fault when these goddamn disconnections have been happening every single damn week?! Not to mention, their customer support is more stupid than a drunk person. They constantly assume the router is malfunctioning, and barely check that any issues are coming from their side. It's always the same, usual response of "Put a pin in the back, and restart your router". Spectrum set you up for the bait. Now you are stuck in, quite possibly, a permanent unknown limbo of scummy business practices. You are the one getting screwed over yet the CEO is making huge profits by overcharging you. And no matter how much you complain, nothing changes, nothing improves. It's still the same garbage internet connection and the same stupid customer support. And Spectrum even runs a monopoly in some states, which means they are the only provider that is not ridiculously overpriced, and they take advantage of that. Spectrum cannot be forgives for what they're doing to you, me, and all of us. Spectrum needs to be punished, and rightfully so. If you live in a state where Spectrum is the only available choice, I recommend you move to another state that has other options, and dump Spectrum. Instead, get a fiber connection. I recommend Google Fiber if you live in a state that has Google Fiber available to you. Don't let Spectrum get away with their awful and greedy business practices. You have a voice, and now is the time to use it.

That will be hard to do with the same old written policies and the same jerks running the show. Anytime they're friendly they're getting ready for a new round of rate hikes. They'll hide these rate increases behind phone and internet rates, box charges, and broadcast fees that people have seen through. It's ridiculous, that's what it is! Some pages fail to load entirely due to this constant disconnection and throttling, and the fact that they keep increasing our price every single month makes me sick! I can't even get a hold of an employee who ACTUALLY KNOWS the issue. Every time, I keep getting put on hold for what seems like an eternity, and once I finally DO get to someone, they always tell me to "put a pin in the back, and restart it"! They don't even try to be helpful! They always assume it's the router that is having issues and never bother to check if the issues are actually coming from their side. I've had disconnections and slower internet speeds EVERY SINGLE WEEK! We pay premium and we get crappy and awful internet in return. Even AFTER Spectrum said "they would increase my speed", I'm STILL having issues. Internet drops practically every day and sometimes it goes out for extended periods of time. After running a speed test, it showed I was getting incredibly slow internet speed. Restarting the router DOESN'T HELP! Spectrum is a fraudulent SCAM that it able to get away with overcharging for horrible service and yet it ranks in huge profits because of it! Why doesn't the BBB put a freaking END to them? I'm FED UP with Spectrum. All I want is a reliable internet connection. And I never get it. Yet we pay over $100 for this every single month. What a freaking unforgiveable SCAM Spectrum is.

So about 6 weeks ago I called another company and got a better and faster deal. Now my internet is blazing fast and does not go out. I call to cancel my service of 13 plus years and they said that the problem was outdated equipment and could take care of it. I said no thanks. Now I just go a email from some collection agency tell me that I owed $59 dollars to Spectrum for their outdated modem. I was not given any instructions on what to do with the modem nor did I ever get a call or an email from Spectrum about the modem. They had some Collection agency send me a threating letter. So they screwed me for years while I was a customer and now trying to screw me again once I was not.

I am trying to download a 12-HOUR video on another site and Spectrum is CONSTANTLY slapping me in the face with network issues all over the place. The download constantly freezes indefinitely and sometimes stops altogether when I am least expecting it. The download is already SLOW enough because of it being a 7.3 GIGABYTE MP4 FILE, and Spectrum is just making it even slower than it is supposed to be. This is NOT the 100mpbs speed I was promised when that stupid merger with TWC and Bright House happened. I am DONE! Worst ISP in the world and they never take the time to listen to feedback and ALWAYS say that service issues that THEY created are either coming from our OWN ROUTER, or there's not any outages at all when I CLEARLY get outages, or they just hang up or bring one of their barely-trained technicians out to "fix" these issues. Right now, the download CONTINUOSULY keeps pausing and resuming and I'll be surprised if the damn download even completes. Spectrum is just the WORST! I hope that in a decade Spectrum customers get so sick of them they boycott them and FORCE them to shut down and I finally am able to get a service that provides fiber internet. Trust me, when that day comes, I'll be leaving Spectrum in a heartbeat.

SPECTRUM IS LITERALLY THE WORST INTERNET SERVICE PROVIDER/CABLE PROVIDER IN THE WORLD. I have SO MANY THINGS to vent about this atrocious, money-hungry, and downright SHITTY provider.

SPECTRUM IS LITERALLY THE WORST INTERNET SERVICE PROVIDER/CABLE PROVIDER IN THE WORLD. I have SO MANY THINGS to vent about this atrocious, money-hungry, and downright SHITTY provider.

First off, the payment that is due always DRASTICALLY increases with each passing month. We originally were paying a reasonable monthly price, but now it's been inflated up to about $50 - $80 a month, and the price CONTINUES to rise for every month we have their shitty internet service.

And something else I have to mention; their speeds are literally dogshit. My internet speed at home is literally as slow as a snail. I can't even BROWSE the internet on certain days without Spectrum deliberately freezing/throttling my internet connection to the point where I have to turn the WiFi off and back on again. It's freaking annoying as hell and on some days my internet goes down for a extended amount of time because of Spectrum's bullshit speeds.

Also, their customer support is f%@king DOGSHIT. NONE OF THE EMPLOYEES act like they know a single damn thing and the phone line's stupid automated and shitty bot service puts me or my dad on hold for 20 - 30 MINUTES STRAIGHT before some bastard employee comes on the line and tells me to f%@king HANG UP when we've been SITTING ON HOLD FOR WHAT FEELS LIKE A f%@kING ETERNITY.

Also, I've been off of Spectrum's shitty internet MORE TIMES THAN I CAN COUNT. Literally, it's been EVERY f%@kING WEEK for the past few months. I swear, we get frequent outages at least ONCE A WEEK and it goes out for god knows HOW f%@king long.

One day, on a PERFECT AFTERNOON, my internet connection was WAY SLOWER than it was supposed to be, and my Xbox had troubles connecting to YouTube. My sister even had connection problems while she was trying to load Discord.

What I tried to do was hard reset my Xbox, but that did really nothing. Instead, it just kicked me out of my Xbox account and I COULD NOT sign back in until Spectrum stopped deliberately throttling my internet connection. I literally did not have access to the internet at all. Neither on my Xbox, OR on my laptop/PC.

In fact, my internet was out for 10 - 20 MINUTES STRAIGHT until it FINALLY came back online around 15 minutes later. It took a while, but it was SO WORTH IT in the end, because I finally got to view whatever interested me on YouTube. Actually, before I could do that, I had to SIGN BACK IN to my account because when Charter Spectrum f%@ked with my internet, that just so happened to sign me out on Xbox, so I had to GO TO THE f%@kING ACTIVATION PAGE FOR THE 6TH TIME IN 2 OR 3 MONTHS. And it wasn't easy. In fact, it took me 6 f%@kING MINUTES just to sign back into my account when in reality it only should've taken around 30 SECONDS.

Later in the day, we were watching a movie on Peacock. In fact, it was Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince. Spectrum, being the shitty company they are, decided "Oh! Let's f%@k up the quality of their video while they are watching a f%@king movie on Peacock!", and that's exactly what they f%@king did. The quality went from excellent to near absolute DOGSHIT in LESS THAN 10 SECONDS. We had to RELOAD THE ENTIRE f%@kING PAGE just for the f%@king quality to be back as it originally was. Spectrum was literally being a f%@king scummy corporation and not giving a damn about it.

And then, a similar thing happened yesterday. Could NOT access a single thing. The cable was entirely out, and it was stuck on it's "ONE MOMENT PLEASE" screen. Xbox Live could not put me online at all, and I had various other issues.

One of those is which I had to do my f%@king schoolwork on Google Drive OFFLINE because of this shitty internet provider not caring about customer satisfaction. And to make things worse, Spectrum thought it would be fun to 'pretend' I am online for JUST A FEW f%@kING SECONDS. Every single f%@king time I checked when it was up, Chrome told me it was down and I couldn't access the page.

In fact, our internet was down for a total of 3+ HOURS until the braindead employees at Charter FINALLY got my internet up and running again. The outages started a little bit after 4 in the afternoon, and didn't end until after 6 in the afternoon that day.

Also, Spectrum Cable is the f%@king worst. Most of the good channels are either taken off the air because Spectrum f%@king feels like it, there's a f%@king 'dispute' going on with some other shitty-ass company, or they are locked by absurd package prices. Also, the service was shitty to the end of the world. Cable has outages FREQUENTLY with NO SIGN of stopping. It's honestly bullshit!

Also, Spectrum wants their OWN EMPLOYEES, well, the good ones, to accept drastic cuts to healthcare and retirement benefits. Ever since then, over 1,800 employees have went on strike for 3+ YEARS because Spectrum wants to f%@k with THE PEOPLE THEY'VE HIRED. Ugh, it's just a f%@king JOKE.

AND, to add insult to injury, they run a monopoly in my city. Basically, that means they have FULL CONTROL over that particular city, and we can only choose that particular provider, or go with nothing at all. That basically means there's NO OTHER OPTIONS, and we cannot choose anything else because there's NOTHING TO f%@kING CHOOSE FROM. And, I can't install Google Fiber because it isn't available, which it honestly should be, because I am getting f%@king sick of Spectrum's continuous greed and carelessness.

Lastly, Spectrum LIES to their customers. They deliberately lie so they can f%@k with them. Every single freaking time one of their shitty advertisements come on the TV, they say "We provide the fastest speeds at a reasonable price." Spectrum is f%@king lying to people who actually have a choice of provider, and these people get f%@ked over because Spectrum really does everything it says it does NOT do. That is fraud/false advertisement and that is vital grounds for legal action taken against them.

To sum it up, f%@k YOU SPECTRUM. You're literally the WORST internet provider in the world and yet you STILL manage to stay afloat by LYING TO VUNERABLE PEOPLE WITH YOUR SHITTY-ASS COMMERCIALS. The only service that's "the fastest growing provider in the nation" is T-Mobile, and it deserves to be, except Verizon, which I hear is also a f%@king terrible internet service provider DESPITE them owning T-Mobile. f%@k you, f%@k your commercials, and f%@k YOUR LIES. Charter (Spectrum in my area) "community wi-fi" is forced on us by the holding company of our apartment building. There are random service outages, for hours at a time, cannot even log into the app or webpage using smartphone/wifi hotspot because it says our account doesn't exist. This persists even after service is restored. Was sold some BS about how all the routers are "in phase" so even at peak times it is fast, and 300MBps can run as fast as gigabit connection - absolutely not, it is often slow as hell during the day. Sometimes so bad I can't even check my bank balance because it times out. I cannot login to add new MAC addresses to enable other devices to connect to it, because of aforementioned account rejection. After this latest outage, my laptop connects, but my phone will not, and I cannot by any means check to see if the MAC address for my phone changed thus blocking the connection or if this is just yet another unexplained bullshit error. There is no troubleshooting, you cannot log into the router to adjust security settings, only a (non-functioning) admin page to add new devices. I have also had devices show up in the past that I never authorized appear in the whitelist which is creepy and a security issue. Even the Guest network goes down. TV service is forced, raising the price, even when not desired. I could go on but I am exhausted from fighting with this piece of crap service after the most recent random theft of service.

My house and property have been checked everywhere by both techs. The last one told me to call his supervisor and gave me his number. His supervisor does not answer his phone calls or return calls. So I call charter back today, two weeks later. I am told by the person at charter that the tech has to be the one who requests that they check the telephone poles for the problem . Both Techs said they believe the problem is at the poles. Why did'int the techs report it???? Now I have to call one of the techs directly. I just happen to number. I just got the tech on the phone and he said he will have his supervisor call me! We will see.

Charter knows their boxes, modems and routers do not work. There are hundreds of emails with over 100 known issues with the eiquiment for the past 3 years with no ETA for fixes. The company is gearing up to collapse its self in true charter fashion. They got the stocks up extremely high which is amazing since nothing works anywhere. I'm sure all the investors of the merger are going to sell very soon and charter will go bankrupt again.

Wow. I cannot begin to describe how jacked the On Demand service is. Half the time it doesn't even work, displaying instead a bevy of error codes, mostly the infamous HL1000 code, even after...

Wow. I cannot begin to describe how jacked the On Demand service is. Half the time it doesn't even work, displaying instead a bevy of error codes, mostly the infamous HL1000 code, even after rebooting the set-top box! When it does work, God forbid you try to watch anything longer than an hour! The program starts to glitch and the sound skips, as if the program can no longer be buffered. Nothing like having to break immersion by pausing a movie for 30+ seconds just so the box can catch up. I swear I cannot recall ever having this problem with TWC.

And then there are the channels themselves. Picture glitches occasionally, displaying artifacts on the screen that probably wouldn't be there if Charter would just upgrade their boxes. It's as if the antennae needs to be readjusted - except there aren't any as this is cable TV! And 1080i? Really? My gaming console has better resolution than that! Not to mention the next-gen consoles will be 8K, or that most streaming services offer 4K - why can't we get true 1080p? Oh yeah, those outdated set-top boxes...

If you enjoy paying a premium for subpar resolution, internet, On Demand, and service blackouts just because the sun is shining or the moon is full, then Charter's Spectrum is for you. Maybe I should just get my service somewhere else - oh wait, I can't, because there aren't any other providers here. You'd think there were laws against monopolies in this country...

No I couldn't mail a copy, said I must bring one in person to cancel her service for security reasons. Hmmm, so if I don't pay the bill eventually you'll cut off her service right? Ridiculous to cause someone who is going through loss of a loved one and a million things to take care of with their death to go to extra trouble to have internet service shut off. NO other biller required that I hand deliver a death certificate to their office to get the internet shut off. I even had the security code and copy of her bill for her account!

Breaking news for Spectrum here in Austin....telling us this is 'Cedar Flu' season is not news (happens every year like clock work) and no amount of how Gov Newsom's (CA) policies on some initiative regarding a turtle crossing the road and the beneficial environmental impact his $1B plan will have will change this fact.

They need to be forced out of business for their shady business ethics. I started out with charter almost 6 years ago & they were a little better but spectrum beats all. Besides the inconsistent internet streaming, half of the cable in the house not working lately, trying to cancel the service was a nightmare. You get cut off after waiting forever to get someone on the phone so I’m not under a contract because they could care less about offering loyal customers any type of break so I just didnt pay the bill & they took care of it for me & cut it off. Backfired on them because I’m not turning it back on. I wouldnt if they were the last internet cable company on earth. I’d sit and watch grass grow before I’d ever do that. I’ll pay the final bill and be rid of them forever! I’m going with a small local company again who might not offer all the big fancy things spectrum claims to but they either dont really exist to begin with or dont work most of the time anyway & at the prices they charge, no thank you. They do not value their existing customers and will lie to get new suckers stuck in a contract. Ditching Charter after 18 years. Last month they changed my due date for billing. Now my due date is BEFORE I get paid and have the ability to pay it. This includes the supposed 9 day grace period. So if I pay on the 1st of the month by the time they get it is already late and I get assessed a late fee every month. I have been with them for almost 20 years. Never been late, never missed a payment. The old due date was working fine and I had an excellent payment history with them, but someone in corporate decided it would be a good idea to have a rigid billing system that won't allow for customer convenience. I am on a fixed government income, I get paid once a month. How am I supposed to pay a bill before I get paid? Customer service was sympathetic enough, but completely unable to help saying that they don't have the ability to adjust due dates back to before the change. Reminds me of the Banks before 2008 when they were making money hand over fist on late fees by rigging the system and trying to ensure customers paid late, that is until congress stepped in and forced them to stop!!!! Charter SUCKS!!!!! They are greedy bastards!!!! Corporate greed at its finest.

Just got off the phone with a Charter/Spectrum rep and another round of ‘I understand’ and ‘I’m sorry’, but they don’t and they’re not.
I’m waiting for the call back so I can provide feedback on their ‘service’. I bet they don’t call me! They don’t want to give me a chance to let them know how angry I feel.
Earlier this month the cable went out and we decided against fixing it (probably the Spectrum owned splitter in the attic, again.). We decided to cancel instead and save a bit of money.
Rep at the store handled everything just fine, gave me the new price and told me I might have to deal with Cust Svc if my bill is wrong.

I auto paid the bill, on time, as usual with the new rate, but my account indicated I still owed a remaining balance, ie the remainder of the monthly bill for service I never got. Service was disconnected within 24 hours so not even Cable on tv would work.
I was never told that or I would have kept the service until the end of the month (3 weeks).
... and just co-incidentally they switched to a subscription service the week before and no longer pro-rate their services.

Their false concern is contemptible!
They kept repeating that they were only subscription service and don’t pro-rate prorate refunds.Over and over again! I spoke to supposed supervisor who gave me the same company line. I wonder how much longer they’ll be working for Charter.
Too bad the rep who cancelled my cable and took the equipment never bothered to mention that. It’s probably because the internal communication are so bad.
I used to work for these scumbags. It gave me high blood pressure and digestive problems as well as anxiety, and I gained 40 lbs. I finally quit because I couldn’t deal with their version of customer service.., and the many, many angry customers who complained on almost every call.
Previous service jobs instilled in me the ideal of serving the customer and solving problems to the customers satisfaction, not adding to their unhappiness and frustration.
But this job was to hold back the tide of customer complaints. We had to bill customers every time we ‘rolled a truck’ so invalids who couldn’t get to a store to swap a bad modem were billed to have a tech deliver and install one ( wait, isn’t that their job? apparently not).
The call center goes thru so many reps, it’s obvious why they’re always advertising for help.
.., and for the cancer surgery and treatment, well they always claim best in class benefits, so the medical would be covered, but since I hadn’t worked their for quite a year I wasn’t eligible for disability leave so I would lose my job... and my benefits.

Internet from Spectrum is so ridiculously unreliable and they just can't be assed about it. They don't even understand the problem usually "your speed isn't right?", no jackass, my speed drops to 0 a dozen times a day because your service cuts out.

They send a tech, tech might replace line, tech will probably replace modem, nothing will actually change. They charge $70+/month for this.

They tried blaming my equipment, so I showed them the logs from their own modem where it was clear it was losing signal. They replaced the modem with a model where I can't access the logs.

They will be the first against the wall when the revolution comes. I wouldn't piss on them if they were on fire.

The techs have been out to this house (as well as my last address) several times and each time the tech "finds" something wrong. Why didn't the last guy find that?!?! Then they blame it on my router. So I go buy a super-duper router. Guess what? Still have the problem so they say well you can rent one of our routers. Why would that make a difference? Do you have your modem engineered to NOT work with the industry's leading technology? I dropped their cable service but am still dependent on their crappy internet service to stream. If there was another choice in my smaller town, I would switch immediately!!!!

Their Accepted Callers list actually works great but it is limited to 30 or so accepted numbers. With three people in one house hold that is not enough for us. I called and asked if they would be willing to make the list longer. Said they would "pass on the idea. So far a no go on that. I guess adding text numbers to a list file is so huge their servers can't handle the enormous space it would take to make the list longer. Otherwise we are pleased with the service. Except what they charge if you just want your local channels and nothing more. Talk about high priced!

If there was another option, I would have it, but At&t U-verse is absolutely pathetic and while they sell you 30mbps packages, it drops below .5 mbps regularly.

Then why am I paying for wireless service; plus I can not hard wire everything in if I want to tablet or phone it in different rooms at different times. The children are done with it, as all their videos or games are too slow on their tablets.

Now 4 months later it goes from $9.95 to $11.99 ($2.04)!!! That's a more than 35% increase in 4 months and I still watch the same channels and I don't think they have added any new channels. It doesn't seem to bother them our electric company is installing fiber optic cable in a very large part of the Charter service area. I'll jump on board even if it cost more for a couple of years to get the "New Customer" deal if I ever want to come back. Been with charter for 34 years but they don't care so neither do I.

A few years back, Charter bought out Bresnan Communications. It was my understanding that the FCC indicated to Charter that they had to continue to honor Bresnan.net email accounts. Ever since that happened, my email service has gone to hell in a big way. The latest is that friends and family I have communicated with for years via email are no longer able to receive my emails - they come back marked "email returned as return email address refused." So my thinking is that Charter (Spectrum) has been slowly but systematically identifying other service providers and informing them that "bresnan.net" is no longer viable so they will refuse the emails, thus forcing those of us stupid enough to have continued with those addresses to find a new email system and thus saving Charter(Spectrum) some money. Any other takes on this issue?

Made an appointment, in person, at my local Spectrum branch for the next day. The next day, I wait for two hours for the technician to call or arrive. Neither happened. Called the main phone number...

Made an appointment, in person, at my local Spectrum branch for the next day. The next day, I wait for two hours for the technician to call or arrive. Neither happened. Called the main phone number for customer support and got an automated message that my appointment was for a day and date that was not even in sync with this year's calendar. Got back to my computer and logged into my account which indicated I had NO appointment. So, I called the main number again and waited for a live service rep who told me my original appointment was marked as "cancelled." He told me that he would escalate the issue and that the local branch would contact me to set up another appointment. Haven't heard a peep since. Nada. Zilch. Just the sound of crickets. I rue the day that Charter bought out my service provider Bright House Networks, with whom I never had a problem over the span of twenty years. Yet another example of a company too big to manage itself.

We moved a few months ago and new house was set up for Charter Spectrum, so thought we'd give it a try, as we've had DISH satellite for TV and another satellite service for internet for past several years living in a rural area. No real complaints with DISH, other than the occasional outage in heavy rain, no biggie. Very good customer service. Satellite internet was better than dial up, but looked forward to having high speed for the first time.
The Charter internet has been pretty good, but there have been more problems in the first three months of TV service with Charter than the last 11 years with DISH. First there were several channels that wouldn't come in, the picture was all scrambled/pixelated and a couple channels went completely out when you turned on lights in the house. Plus the DVR box had such delayed reaction to remote commands that you'd press it again and then several seconds later it would finally react and do something completely different because you pressed it twice...or three times before it finally responded. Tech came out and fixed the screwed up channels by cutting and redoing the main cable connection. But the DVR box remained slow and unresponsive.
Finally called service and was told we could take it in and trade it for a new box. NEW new, I asked? Because I was amazed to discover that when we signed up for new service, we were given used equipment...equipment that still had someone else's recordings on it...seriously? Oh yes sir, service rep says, brand new box. Not. So second used junk box constantly crashed in response to pausing, rewinding, playing both live and recorded programs. Lost recordings, lost paused place in program, etc.
Got third box today, lost all recordings and settings again in the process, of course. Went through activation process again. Reset all the recordings again. Now we can't access the guide, the menu or the DVR service. Waited six hours, rebooted box a couple times, finally called tech support. Guy was nice, but clueless, wanted to set up another service call so he could put into motion something called a "remedy ticket" after that didn't work, which it probably wouldn't, because Charter's equipment is JUNK. Gave me the spiel about how they're gearing up for a big renovation and new system, equipment, etc. So everyone just has to put up with this crap until then?

Thought we'd try to put up with the b.s. until the regular pricing kicked in, but after DVR service fee and extra box fees, the price ain't all that great anyway, because we don't use the so-called landline that you're forced to sign up for to get a better price. Guess I'll be giving my DISH guy a call and going back to satellite. Never had any of these problems with DISH and was able to choose my programming ala carte to boot with DISH Flex Pack. Miss being able to set show timers, miss being able to have instant access to the guide without having the box freak out over it. Miss being able to have HD and SD channels displayed in succession for each channel rather than having to scroll through a confusing repeat of the same channels that don't clearly show their designation, miss being able to record the exact program at the exact time I want to record it, rather than having to choose between "new" or "all" and the box chooses the time. WTH is up with that? DISH Flex pack, I'm coming back!

I have 3, 2.4ghz devices and 2. 5.8ghz devices I am going to buy some real testing equipment and prove this.Enough already!!! Well I'm trying to watch a movie, we stream all of our programming so we rely on internet service to do this, but it crashes a dozen or more times a day. It's probably due to the noise-laden infrastructure out here that they never fix. Our neighbor has something pumping noise into the system so instead of fixing the problem, they instead cut off their service. What happened to sending a technician to fix the issue? Oh wait...i remember... their in house techs are about as useless as a bull with boobs. They are under trained and lazy. And why would they fix the issue when they can could continuously make money on service calls? $65 service fee because they come out do their bull crap tests (they don't even know what to look for) and of course, find nothing wrong and charge you for nothing. Then, your internet crashes yet again and you're stuck paying a bill for a service that blows and can do nothing about it because they have quite the monopoly here. I worked for them and they treat service partners as bad as their subscribers. I hate hate hate hate with the deepest parts of my soul hate this company. I wish all copper based networks were outlawed and they were all forced to convert to fiber optics. We would never again have this issue.

My internet just came back here in Tampa, FL after being down for several night hours. This usually starts at least once a week between 10pm and 1am EST, usually for 4-8 hours at a time. Whenever we call they claim it's down for maintenance. (And they claim the reason for the timing is that no one needs their service at night. Really?) In 20+ years of professional IT experience I have never heard of a major ISP actually shutting down your service on a weekly basis for maintenance (or being so naive that they think people only work during the day). Major shutdowns usually only occur once every 4-6 months! And major providers always have ways to reroute your service so it's uninterrupted during smaller "weekly" maintenance cycles. I have had AT&T, Comcast, Brighthouse, and even the "old" RoadRunner service in 8 different states and have never had this problem. Only Spectrum does this. I believe at the very least we should have a prorated bill whenever they do this if they truly believe it is a necessary "regular scheduled" thing. But that is besides the point. In these modern times several thousand customers work out of their home. And a lot of us do business 24/7 (some of us have international clients and need to be online when our client's country is open for business). We lose business, clients and contracts whenever interruption in service occurs.

Even paying your bill is an ordeal. I tried to tell the automated operator 4 times that I want to pay my bill and finally had to get online because it could not comprehend that. I dumped cable TV since they originally quoted $90 and when they actually billed me it was $126. I still pay $70 a month for internet service that fails and stutters. If there was any other provider here I would be gone. They have rural America held hostage and we all want them gone. They have absolutely no respect for customers since they hold a monopoly which is supposedly not legal btw.

Hello everyone. This is embarrassing but I had Charter to provide internet service to my home. From the very beginning I had troubles. My service would buffer until I just cut it off out of frustration. But my main problem was no service at all. I spent over $400 having a technician come and "attempt" to repair it while still paying my bill on time. I did this until I realized I was being screwed over by Charter Communications. Yes, I am an idiot for thinking Charter had my interests in mind and that an agreement we both agreed to would be upheld. This business is a criminal enterprise that will lie to you and rob you blind while smiling and assuring you everything will be repaired soon.. but it never was. So taking the next logical step, I terminated my service. Charter then sent me a bill for over $600 for maintenance costs or some crap to bleed me for more money. In a reply to this an email was sent and I declined to pay and stated my position and called them out. They retaliated and turned that fake bill over to a collection agency attempting to ruin my credit because I wouldn't allow them to rob me any longer. I then wrote another email to Charter and a phone call to the collection agency and laid it all out again how Charter are criminals and that I was owed either service or my money back plus a few choice words I won't repeat here. Eventually, after some time over a few months I was told the bill was removed from collections and they were sorry about the mistake. Lol., "sorry for the mistake?" There was no mistake, I was being railroaded and robbed. Charter Communication+Time Warner and so now Spectrum Internet will take advantage of you if possible. Don't be an idiot. Do research before you commit to this company.

When Charter bought out our company they told us all about how much they loved the culture of the old company. They are some sick people because they strangled every last bit of that culture out that the claimed to love.

Upper management has zero respect for employees. They bury bad news under a load of smoke and mirrors. After reading five paragraphs of an email telling us how much money employees can save by switching to Spectrum Mobile the finally told us that there is no employee discount on monthly fees or handsets.

When Tom Rutledge waddled his decrepit carcass down south and held a town hall he asked people to submit questions. Every single one of the questions he answered was a softball and he purposely weeded out tough questions he didn't want to answer. Tech Support: "Your account was never transfered/activated for that address. Your account shows null status. I'm not even sure how you've had internet access. Let me transfer you to billing"

Billing: "I'm sorry but it seems the work order for the tranfer of service wasnt handled correctly. I can't reactivate your service. Let me transfer you to sales"

15 minutes later

Sales: "I can't transfer your old account information. I'll have to process you as a new customer. The good news is you'll get our "NEW CUSTOMER RATE" which should be less than what you were paying. Now can I just have you repeat your name and birthdate so I can start the order?"

It took 3 minutes to download a 15mb file today. When everything works like it's supposed to (which isn't often anymore), it would take me 3 minutes to download a 2gb file.

Talk now is Rutledge is milking previous TWC/Brighthouse customers for every penny he can to rebuild the West Coast Operation while ignoring maintenance in most of the Midwest, South, etc. The reason for this is he plans to spin off the unmaintained areas to either ATT, Altice, or Comcast.
