After a frustrating 2 hour run around with customer support I'm told I'm an existing customer and I'm not eligible for the new customer rate no matter what the other rep said...

This morning my internet isn't working.

I call Spectrum to find out what's going on.

30 minutes later.

Tech Support: "Your account was never transfered/activated for that address. Your account shows null status. I'm not even sure how you've had internet access. Let me transfer you to billing"

30 minutes later

Billing: "I'm sorry but it seems the work order for the tranfer of service wasnt handled correctly. I can't reactivate your service. Let me transfer you to sales"

15 minutes later

Sales: "I can't transfer your old account information. I'll have to process you as a new customer. The good news is you'll get our "NEW CUSTOMER RATE" which should be less than what you were paying. Now can I just have you repeat your name and birthdate so I can start the order?"

Its has %ghz. Got off with tech attitude when he noticed it was not theirs. alot of "its not us".looking up there seperate modem. Cost 45-49 bucks. Everybodys favorite land China. Do you really think a quailty dual band router. From what i read here. Satellite or maybe 2 soup cans and a string. what to do for stero sound >>> have to figure that one out. Spectrum is trying to extort me into paying $5000 for installation costs on a street where both neighbors have internet and numerous Spectrum techs told me hook up is possible for free with an ok. Since spectrum is a monopoly in my area they can basically leave me without internet. This is hurting my business and my spouses ability to work from home. I have been fighting with Spectrum for the last 5 months. I’ve even had Spectrum supervisors admit $5000 for 600 feet of line is egregious. Worst piece of shit corrupt company I’ve ever dealt with.

I have a cable-internet bundle. The cable is fine, but the internet is complete sh*t. It goes down at least once a night, usually two or three times and more at times. The speeds are so slow. It took 3 minutes to download a 15mb file today. When everything works like it's supposed to (which isn't often anymore), it would take me 3 minutes to download a 2gb file.

I say anymore because these problems haven't existed forever from my experience. Everything is going downhill for the sh*tshow that is Spectrum.

Meanwhile this thief Rutledge is still claiming TWC/Brighthouse customers pay to little for their excellent service. Talk now is Rutledge is milking previous TWC/Brighthouse customers for every penny he can to rebuild the West Coast Operation while ignoring maintenance in most of the Midwest, South, etc. The reason for this is he plans to spin off the unmaintained areas to either ATT, Altice, or Comcast. Rutledge then walks away with a rebuilt West Coast operation now debt free by driving cable rates sky high on previous TWC/Brighthouse customers. This whilr leaving the rest of the system in shambles. Again this is the most conniving POS Con man I’ve ever seen.

I have business internet service with them. I also added, and paid for, a static IP address because I host a website out of my home. One day, after a scheduled maintenance window was completed, my...

I have business internet service with them. I also added, and paid for, a static IP address because I host a website out of my home. One day, after a scheduled maintenance window was completed, my internet never came up. I called and after resetting my modem and fiddling with my computer, which took almost an hour, they told me my block of IP addresses was accidentally reallocated somewhere else and they couldn't get it back. Needless to say my site was down for almost 2 days!!! When I escalated to a manager and they finally acknowledged it was their wrong-doing, they gave me a prorated credit for 2 days. A whopping $6. My website brings in more than $2000/mo in revenue and $6 is going to make up for theor incompetence???? I don't think so.

For those of you who understand networking and hosting a web site, losing an IP address suddenly is unspeakable. DNS changes could take 48 hours to propogate around the world. Until then, your site is down.

Just cancelled Charter last week and going to try YoutubeTV or something else. Anything is better than what Charter was offering. I was paying close to $120/mo for "Expanded Basic" package. WTF!!! No premium channels!!! Are you kidding me??? The set-top box continuously had problems. For some reason, every time during sports playoffs, the picture freezes and play constantly. If I recorded the event, the freeze and play is also recorded. Had to bring it in to swap it out almost every year or so. But first I had to call Support and speak to the ridiculous auto attendant only to have to answer the same questions again after I get a live attendant.

Oh - I also have my internet through Charter. Problems not as bad but customer service is just as bad. One time, prior to calling them, I tried to reset my modem myself. I know they will ask me to leave it unplugged for a certain time so I made sure I did that first. When I called, sure enough they had me unplug the modem. When I told them I already did that, they asked how long I left it unplugged - I said about 30 seconds. Their response - "Oh, that's not long enough. You have to leave it unplugged for at least 45 seconds". Are you kidding me?!?!?

Enough said - I'm getting worked up just writing this. Charter / Spectrum is just a company with a monopoly that, hopefully, will be shut down or go bankrupt. I tell everyone to not use Charter if they can. The absolutely SUCK!!!

If you are elderly or disabled on a fixed income make sure the FCC knows your being ripped off by Charter/Spectrum and mention the idea of a class action lawsuit being a good possibility.
Call the FCC over and over and over until they don't want to hear from us anymore, this is how you fix Charter/Spectrum's little red wagon.
Jam the FCC call center with complaints about Charter/Spectrum, sooner or later something will have to be done.
I have not looked yet but if I can find information about an ongoing class action suit against Charter/Spectrum I will be sure to repost the information here for you all.

Dear Mr. Rutledge,

I am writing to you with extreme displeasure in response to Charter’s discriminatory pricing and fraudulent marketing practices.

Due to expiration of promotional pricing rates I am now expected to pay 13.5% more for the same service level with no additional value added by Charter. Meanwhile new customers can enjoy a rate 51% less than what Charter is now asking me to pay!!!

As a P&L executive focused on Customer Retention I have never been a fan of pricing strategies that soak GM$ from your best customers. And as a loyal customer I detest it.

This is exacerbated by Charter’s duplicitous marketing that accuses it competitors of the very same “promotional pricing” schemes, clearly implying that Charter does not practice them.

Mr. Rutledge, I appreciate that you have a long history in the cable business. I recognize that you face competitive disruption of your long-entrenched business model reliant on adding subscribers. So please know that while I respect your battle, I am incredulous that Charter is so nonchalant about its existing customers and practically inviting them to cord-cut.

Clearly from your world class experience you have assembled a team that recognizes there are numerous ways to embrace your customer base while still offering incentives to retain market share. I would like to be presented one of those options to continue on with Charter.

My bill said Spectrum everywhere and I send my money to Spectrum, so why the hell did I have to call and ask for the "Spectrum Internet" when it's the same damn service. I bet the only thing different is a billing code. REALLY!!! No notifications or anything to let me know, "Oh hey, you're what we call a legacy BrightHouse Customer so we're now going to gouge you $75 a month without notice."

I called twice and it wasn't until the 2nd call when I asked for the real price that I got the actual advertised rate. Bunch of crooks. We all know there are some people out there getting gouged for what they deem is "legacy BHN service" just because they haven't noticed on their statement yet.

Back to canceling though, did Spectrum/Charter ask me what was wrong or why I wanted to cancel? Nope, first thing they did is “inform” me that my Internet rate is going to rise from 40 to 65. No “sorry we never replaced your terrible DVR that couldn’t handle looking seven days out on the guide, would skip recording shows for no reason, stopped displaying CC, and whose interface looked and functioned worse than a previous DVR from 2005.”, just “hey, you can cancel, but we’re going to stick it to you in another area.” Not to mention the first person I talked to blatantly lied when she said “we have no retention department” and then transferred me to someone who answered “I’m X, from the Retention Department.” Ironically this person showed no interest in retaining me, only again reiterating that my rate for Internet was going to increase. The first person’s department should have been named “Waste Your Time” (instead of Customer Service”) and the second should have been “Cancellations” (instead of “Retention”). This would aligned with their actual tactics.

Wow, worst cable company I've ever dealt with, and I've had several throughout the years in multiple cities. This company truly takes the cake, they absolutely dgaf about customer service in any way shape or form, and it's not just dealing with a few bad apples, it seems to be COMPANY POLICY. Not only do they participate in deceptive advertising, (while accusing their competitors of doing the same) they only care about the revenue they bring in through their monopoly. Of course there are streaming options these days that are much cheaper, but guess what..you ll still have to get your broadband internet through the cable company if you want decent speeds, but they not only overpriced for that, they throttle the speeds for "cord cutters", and they've been doing it before the cartel in Congress recently voted to make it legal (abolishing net neutrality)

I honestly don't know who to blame, but I'm not sure even Russia or China (who still control media at the central government level) have zero competition when it comes to internet service providers. Guess we can't blame Charter for behaving like the mafia if the federal government and individual cities allow them to operate that way. I'd love to have a business that was a virtual monopoly that could never be truly cut off from the gravy train...Even if you don't care about watching tv, everyone needs internet these days, and satellite/4G cellular aren't good alternatives to cable. I wish Google had carried out their plan of laying fiber everywhere, at least cable companies would have one competitor.

Don't get me wrong, I don't hate all cable companies...just Charter Spectrum. If you have Suddenlink in your area, you're lucky (that's the best I've had)..and no matter how bad it may seem to you, there are worse...much worse. I'm not even going to detail the issues I've had with Charter Spectrum and the arrogance I've experienced, it will just make me angry all over again. On the plus side, their individual installers (likely contractors) are nice, respectful and competent, it's just that you see them far too often for issues that other cable companies can either walk the user through or fix remotely.

If you live in DFW, DON'T get Charter Spectrum! I had Xfinity in Atlanta and it was LIGHT YEARS ahead of what you will get with Charter-Spectrum in DFW for the same price. LIGHT. YEARS. I didn't get channels I ordered here. The tech refused to set up my router in the right room for it. The app BLOWS! It is ALWAYS freezing up, whether on WiFi or LTE. OnDemand is anything but that. With Xfinity, once a show aired, you could watch it onDemand ANYTIME. That's what onDemand means. If a movie was offered on a premium channel, it was offered ALL THE TIME. OnDemand means when I demand it, not "at the provider's leisure." Not the case with Charter. You either have to be there when it airs, or you have to record it. With Xfinity, when you recorded something, you could turn your box off and it would still record to your account. If you turn your box off with Charter while a show is recording, it's like you never set to record at all. The User Interface with Xfinity was clean and easy to use. I have had Charter for over 3 months and STILL haven't figured out the remote or on-screen UI. I'm a millennial, so these things come naturally to me, but I'm an adult now and don't have entire weekends to delve into the intricacies of a crappy remote or UI that has more buttons and non-intuitive selections on it than my father's airplane. To pay for Charter is like settling for gas station coffee at the "convenience" store because you didn't know you could buy drip coffee for the same price at the Starbucks around the corner. DONT DO IT! Demand better! They can offer it, but they refuse to because they want to suck as much money out of you now so that when they DO finally upgrade, then you'll be like "wow, this is awesome! Sure I'll pay EVEN MORE NOW!" Screw you Charter! I DO KNOW BETTER! And now, so does everyone else!

I have had the courtesy of intermittent internet service for two nights in a row now, and meanwhile it seems that internet outages occur with Charter every time a bird shits on one of its towers, at least once every few weeks! I don't know much about internet technology, no more than I understand how electricity works when turning on a light switch, but I suspect there to be a capacity problem or an infrastructure so outdated that it constantly breaks down! Either way, this situation is not good for customers, and I would gladly pay tens of dollars more per month just to avoid the inconvenience if it would help guarantee uninterrupted service. But management has its head up its ass and can't even do a mediocre job for its subscribers - all they are concerned about is meeting profitability goals, and if that means shaving a few dollars off required maintenance, then so be it! What these dumb f%@kers don't realize is that honesty is the best policy, and therefore they would have much better credibility if they simply allowed their customers to know that rates need to increase to facilitate top service. Who wouldn't pay $15 or $20 per month more for that? When Charter took over and created Spectrum instead of TWC, they went UP on my bill WITHOUT notifying me. Since they took over, they have gone up on my bill THREE TIMES!!!! And thats in a two year time period!

I called Charter last month to see if I could get a cheaper deal, since I found one Charter special online that was $20 less a month than what I'm paying. I called them and they said I COULD get that special, so I told them I wanted it.

Now my bill has come and my bill has GONE UP AGAIN!!!! It didn't go DOWN, it went UP! So I call their "customer service" which is a joke, and was told I am NOT able to get that internet special I was told I WAS able to get when I called last month!

They are currently in what they call :negotiations" with FOX Northwest who is not willing to bend over for the price fixing proposed by Charter?Spectrum and we who pay $250.00 every month for service have channels taken away without reimbursement by this greedy bunch of toilet f%@ks.

Sadly, since options are limited, everyone has to put up with a truly terrible company. The internet is come and go, and I have stopped watching TV almost completely (because of Charter) I mean honestly, who wants to watch five minutes of a show and then get bombarded with 10 or 15 minutes of commercials (for real, I timed it)
Have a problem ? Don't bother trying to call customer service, you will talk to a robot (once you actually get through, if you do) This company should just be shut down. I wish another cable company would come to Madisonville Tn.

Very frustrated with Spectrum. Called their customer service in November 2017 to have cable services disconnected effective Dec. 3 while retaining internet. After spending quite a bit of time with the representative who was trying to persuade me not to cancel, I was told the cancellation would be effective Dec. 3. The representative mentioned that I should return the cable box but did not state the cancellation would be effective only on the date the box is returned. Due to serious health issues, I was not able to make the journey to the store to return it. As a result, I'm being charged for the services which Spectrum promised should have been disconnected. My understanding was that I would be charged for the cable box only. After returning the box this week I called Spectrum customer service. The automated voice system said there's a charge of $5.00 to speak to a representative. According to the representative because this disconnection was a "downgrade," Spectrum will charge for the cable service until the box is returned. When I asked how I was expected to be aware of these details, his response was: "Well, I'm telling you now." Spectrum should tell customers on their very first requestl for cable cancellation that the disconnection will become effective the day the box is taken to the store. But, conveniently it seems, this doesn't happen.

Adding insult to injury, minutes after ending the call with this no-help rep, I received a robot call from Spectrum requesting an evaluation of the service I had received. I had to pay $5 to speak to the rep, but Spectrum has the audacity to take up my time for free! The evaluation focused totally on the rep and not on the company. Although he was only following company procedures, I had no option but to give the lowest rating, viz., "very dissatisfied." After giving me the option several times of changing my rating, Spectrum ended its call with the computer voice saying: "I'm sorry, we are having technical difficulties" or some such. In other words, the bad eval was not counted. So much for honesty.
Contrary to their (corny) commercials featuring Halloween creatures asserting the goodness of this company and the evilness of its competitor, Spectrum is Evil.

Let's cut to the chase and be clear about why Charter sucks so bad. In a great many area's Charter has a monopoly. It is nearly impossible for any other company to get a foot hold. Numerous other places have tried to provide my area with either internet or cable over the decades and been sued every time by Charter and then been absorbed when their capital was expended on legal fee's and it was sell or die. As long as government from the federal level , net neutrality gone ...yikes!!! , to right down to the city level keep getting payments from Charter that will not change. And the is why Charter will NEVER change. Sure they lose many customers in the more condensed area's of the country , less so as they buy out every other cable provider , they are the only non-dish option for many in the nation. They don't have to improve as there is no choice B to contact for a different choice. Their internet is always slower than advertised. Their customer service is clearly farmed out to for profit prisons , fun way to find out...ask them if they got where they were by choice or if they unknowingly drove away the get away car. The one's in the for profit prisons lose their shit. That works with most companies though. Everyone you talk to these days is either a computer or a inmate. The television service is shit. The phone service is shit. Charter is shit. I used to think Bresnan was shit , oh how wrong I was...I yearn for those days of old. Ma bell was broken up for a reason , the exact same one that should have stopped Charter from getting this out of control long ago. Have had Spectrum since June 2017. Have had 14 techs at the house to try and fix DVR not recording, On demand not working and premium channels not coming up. Each time you call and they send a different tech out that does not know anything about the problem. The customer service is actually the worst (next to Lowrance fishing equipment). Talked to three managers who "Promised" they would "Escalate" this issue and it will be fixed within 24 hours. needless to say I will be canceling in two days. It really amazes me how these cable companies can charge for what they call service and not be held accountable for their garbage service and product. No other internet provider has caused so much fury and agony as charter communications. The day I called customer service for support was one of the most tragic days of my existence. The woman that i spoke to was quite frankly just diabolic in nature. Just speaking to her made rage bellow deep within my soul.she had a putrid attitude and was extremely deceptive.
But the most spirit shattering moment that charter hurled at me was the time that we were trying to view the motion picture Jurassic Park for my autisic brothers birthday. I tried streaming the film but to no avail. Charters atrocious internet had let us down once again. All the children attending the party were absolutely devastated.
I can only pray to a higher power that charter will go out of business for all the morally wrong acts they commit. May god have mercy on their souls!

Charter now spectrum is a joke of a cable company. I have been a Telecom technician for nearly a decade now and I've seen almost every provider out there and worked for almost every one as well. I started my career in a charter system and have moved on to greater endeavors. Here's the facts: I live in North Alabama and in my particular area the only option is charter or God awful satellite and that's only for television. As far as internet goes charter is the only provider with adequate speeds to do what I need. I dropped their garbage cable TV package and opted for just the internet. This saved me about $100 a month on my bill and I got rid of those decade old outdated and obsolete cable boxes that I was installing when I started. Why are they still using that junk? They don't work half the time and they create tons of unnecessary service calls for the untrained worthless lazy in-house technicians who will never fix the problem, charge you a service call fee and leave you with the same crap service you were already dealing with. Anyway, I have just the internet at my home. I bought two Roku and I stream all of my TV. Usually, it's ok but at least once a week I have to disconnect my modem from the coax cable and reconnect seconds later. (This forces the modem to find a new IP address to use) I'm not sure of why, but it seems my modem occasionally pulls a bad IP to use and.....CRASH goes the internet. They advertise 60 Mbps speed however, I'm pretty sure I'm getting half or less. It's particularly bad on the weekends and when I try to watch on demand shows. I currently work with fiber optic internet and I can tell you from a professional standpoint that fiber is the way to go. Most people don't realize it, but cable and pretty much all copper based networks are becoming obsolete. The government mandates that all Telecom providers change to fiber and that's the best decision that could ever have been made. The difference between the two are like night and day and if I had fiber available where I live, I would drop Spectrum like a bad habit, remove all their garbage coax from my home, remove anything connecting me to their ancient, worthless network, and smile as they became a thing of the past. But alas, I'm forced to use them because there are no other competitors here. If you have choices (and most do) then go with a different provider. Don't be fooled by thinking cable is King, because it most assuredly not. It's been around since the 50's so it's time to be done with old technology.

Plus my jaw dropped to see them offering 200 Internet in some locales. Hell this company is hard pressed to offer much above 50 Internet anywhere and quite a few people feel they spoof those results. Had Spectrum TWC with my own modem/ router combo in my last two homes and had zero problems. Moved to a location where it's Spectrum Charter. Had my modem plugged in and working wirelessly, but no Internet. Called the rep and the minute the modem was activated the wireless died. Charter directs me to Ariss and Ariss tells me the only possibility is Charter disabled my wifi (which is normally done on low end plans when it's their router so they can charge $5 for wifi service). Called back Charter and not only did they say it was impossible, but the rep was quite rude.

I'm just going to buy a separate wireless router. I figure if they can at least get internet to the house I can take over them there. Need to deal with them as little as possible.

When I moved, I hated the thought of connecting with TWC/Spectrum again. They only offer one pkg - 60mbps, which is hard to verify because they spoof speedtest.net results. Strange how I can get...

When I moved, I hated the thought of connecting with TWC/Spectrum again. They only offer one pkg - 60mbps, which is hard to verify because they spoof speedtest.net results. Strange how I can get 62Mbps down but can't get a clear picture on Netflix, which only requires 3Mbps! My internet drops out at least 4-5 times a day. Their modem literally resets with some "TLV-11 - Illegal Set operation failed" message in the log.
They've sent out a technician, he replaced the cable from the their pole spliter to the modem and replaced the modem. NOTHING CHANGED.
Seriously, if I had any other options.

Now, I also had directv because they have a good service and channels you can't get that's for other states if you just ask them.
And my spectrum wifi turned offline, when I call the, they call a technician. The technician fixed the wifi, but he cut directv, he told me lies about it, and just left. I've called spectrum, and more lies. I talked to directv, they said to call another company that has permission to repair my tv. What the? And the company said "they deactivate your service" and hang up. I talked to directv again, they said they did not deactivate service. So I got a annoying new cable box for free for no reason. So I said fine, I'll use it. Great, now I called them again and told me the same number, called again, apparently the guy was a idiot and i got help finally. They charged me even 100 dollars fee, at least its restored. They also sent me email screenshots of the broken wire!

THEY made the mistake, not me...why does it take an act of God to correctly spell my name. And, if not corrected the only way that I can set up service onlline so I can manage my account is to use the wrong spelling of my name. WHAT, why should I have to misspell my name. Just fix it! For an internet service this is mind boggeling to me thta they don't have the ability/capability to correct this.....especially if they would simply look at my application, etc. and see that it is them that made the mistake. Haven't even had the service for a month yet and I'm seriously thinking about cancellation. Don't bother when they tell you they will escalate a case and get back with you because they won't. Most of techs you talk to seem to not know their ass from a hole in the ground. I could be a tech there because I would give the standard answer and tell you to just unplug your router and after it didn't work I would say I'll send a signal. What the hell, this has never worked for anything, well maybe once it did. When you try and use their virtual support agent you will never get a solution, never. If I called charter every time I get some sort of error message, I would be calling daily.

As an employee of Spectrum, I'm going to be honest and say their shit sucks. Since the consolidation of these companies, things have only gotten worse. I deal with nonstop phone calls about complaints with slow internet service and pixelation on the tvs with repeat customers, all we can do is send techs out if you're having slow internet directly connected to the modem and you definitely need a tech out if you're having pixels on your tv. At that point, it's the techs job to get it fixed or put in an escalation ticket to the plaint service techs. Most of the time the techs won't put the ticket in..and most of the time customers have to call back in and all we can do is schedule another service tech (one that we hope is going to put in the escalation ticket) and cannot guarantee if that one will do their job or not. Hell, even if they do their job right and put in an escalation ticket for a network issue (issue is happening beyond your household connection) it won't even get addressed. I've been dealing with slow internet that is beyond the service techs capabilities to fix because the plant techs need to address it at the hub. I go into work and check my account and that tech didn't even put the f%@king ticket in for the plant people.. I get another tech out and he claims he put one in too but I haven't verified that as of yet. The tech that came out 4 days ago said he's been putting escalation tickets all in around my area for weeks. I've had him out there at least 4 times within the last 3 weeks. FIX THE f%@kING SHITTY SERVICE. UPGRADE YOUR GOD DAMN HUBS AND TRAIN YOUR f%@kING PEOPLE. EVERY TIME I HAVE HAD TO CALL IN, I AM PRACTICALLY TRAINING YOUR PEOPLE HOW TO DO THEIR GOD DAMN JOB. I SHOULDN'T HAVE TO ASK THEM TO LOOK INTO X, Y, Z AND BY GOD THEY SHOULD BE ABLE TO TELL ME THE TRB TICKET AND DESCRIPTION BUT YOUR EMPLOYEES DON'T EVEN KNOW HOW TO LOOK UP TICKETS. I've learned most of these "tricks of the trade" because of my tenure. I believe they only train people on how to speak with customers and use the shitty c360 dashboard tool to give them the info, but they should LEARN how to find things out on their own. I worked there for about 6 months before learning that T3 and T4 timeouts on a modem log meant that you needed a tech out, that is not something that they teach.

Every time me or my wife would call about slow internet or cable not working the next month our bill would be $5.00 more with no change in our service! All they do is steal one way or another. Charter Spectrum advertises like they have T1 speeds or some sort of Super Fiber Optics (the type Corporations get) but in actuality what we get is something slightly better than 1997 AOL Dial Up speeds and Charter Spectrum also thottle back their speeds at peak times. False advertising and worthy of a Class Action Lawsuit. It is not their modems or climate changes affecting the lines or a line to someone's house slowly down the speeds - it is Charter Spectrum providing service on the cheap while charging premium prices. Why do I have to use my cellphone data time to write this? Why is it faster?

Every time there is the slightest bit of rain or wind the internet connection drops to slower than dial up, but even when it works it's usually less than 20 mbps - which, btw, is 100 mbps LESS than what they advertise. It's never been faster than 40 mbps for as long as I have been a customer. These problems started when I stopped paying for cable TV and they started putting traps on the line which resulted in a multitude of service calls related to corroded traps, but the problems continued after they stopped using traps. On their end they claim that there are no dropped packets, that everything works perfectly, and it must be a problem on my end. However, the fact that the quality of my connection depends on weather implies otherwise. I am convinced that they don't have the appropriate checks to determine if there is a problem, and now they claim they will be providing fiber optic soon? Ha! If they can't do better than dial up when it rains what makes anyone think they can handle that?

So, right now, I am trying to work and I can't because my download speed is 0.05 mbps and my upload speed is 3.19 mbps. That's fast enough to browse, but not fast enough to work under. Yesterday it was actually down to 0.005 mbps! and they have the audacity to respond to a lawsuits that they don't lie about speeds, that was time warner before they merged?

Since Time Warner switched to Spectrum, our bill suddenly started sporting a line item charge for "Home WiFi". I called and questioned what this charge was for, and was told it was for the wireless router they supplied. I told the rep on the phone that we have owned our own WiFi equipment for years, so there was no way we should be billed for this. The rep only offered to refund 2 of the 4 months this charge, so I asked to escalate to a supervisor. The supervisor then proceeded to LIE and state that we called and requested this change, and when we asked why we would do such a thing, he said that was what he wanted to find out. He then dug in his heels and refused to refund any of the charges that were made in error and pretty much dared us to go to the PSC and the FCC. I live for the day when our area opens up to competition in the broadband area!

My husband and I work second shift. We are still very active at that hour, we are basically just getting home from work. Right now, I am typing this because our cable hasn't worked for the past 4 hours. Customer service is a joke. If they tell me to unplug the box, count to 10, and plug it back in one more time...
In these times (which are often!) we rely on our "high speed internet." Another cruel joke from Charter. We can't even use an Amazon FireStick (they rely on your internet connection,) without issues. I hate this company so, so profoundly that the English language fails in expressing my true feelings. I know Dish Network has their issues, but for the love of anything good, it can't be this bad.

Now we're stuck with Spectrum and they literally just cut off our service in the middle of the day because we owed a little past due; my dad always had an arrangement with Time Warner to pay them at some point in the future, but Spectrum doesn't offer any assistance. Not only that but they're more expensive for less channels and I've had their signal cut in and out a ton, too. Their guide is inconsistent with showing the title and description of episodes, too; half the time it just shows the name of the series. The worst part is they're the only option for cable TV, Internet, and phone here.

The guide will only show All of the channels and will not filter out the channels that I do not get. I could build a favorites channel list of the channels I actually receive but they can not tell me what all of those channels are. I would have to go through and select each channel to see if I get it then add it to a favorites list. STUPID !. all other providers I have simply filter this on the channel guide. I have called 3 times My wife has called and we spoke to them on line and they simply can not do this.

Well the bill just came in and guess what???? I'm now paying $285 for Internet and TV....WTF....I was paying only $85 before. So now they charged me $200 for TV??????? So we had Irma come thru last night in North Georgia. My friends that live only a couple of miles away still have Internet and TV with Comcast....I've been out for 18 hours now. How am I supposed to run my business??? I guess I'll have to go to my friends house. Maybe AT&T wasn't such a bad deal. I had Direct TV and Internet from them and never lost service. Spectrum is not only dishonest, but the service is horrible. You can't even get a person on the phone. There again, I know that Irma has caused a lot of damage but this is poor service in my opinion. You should at the very least be able to get someone on the phone with an estimate of when service will be restored.

I made a formal complaint to the PSC (MN), and the FCC (this is what we need to do). The EU Claire Charter Director came groveling to my door, bringing 3 techs, to appease my complaints. I told him it was too late, complaints were officially made, and that Charter can reap the penalties. People, Charter most likely got penalties in the millions; Not wishful thinking..reality. Take your complaints to the highest outside regulatory levels. Charter wasn't 'sorry', Charter was sorry it got correctly nailed.

When we tried to watch some of the channels we requested they had error messages that required an upgrade. When we called back and talked to the supervisor, he explained that he made a mistake and they could honor the deal. We then talked to three additional supervisors and were told they would not honor the deal, even though the agreement was recorded. We said they needed to pick up their equipment because I would not spend another penny dealing with them, including returning their equipment.

Over 99% of the tweets are of dissatisfied customers aka victims. Charter's fraudulent behavior prompted the NY Attorney General to investigate for over a year prompting a lawsuit for Fraudulent & Deceptive Practices. Charter knowingly made false claims of speeds that they could not deliver. The state of Kentucky has since followed suit and also has an active investigation. Just recently or let's say since March 28, 2017 1800 employees went on strike for Unfair Labor Practices. Although the striking families have the support of most citizens of NYC, all unions (NYPD, FDNY, UFT, 32BJ, Teamsters, UFCW, RWDSU, CWA, IBEW, NYC Central Labor Council, AFM, DC37, SEIU, AFM 802, Local 338, etc.), NYC Mayor, NYC Comptroller, NYC Public Advocate, Senators, NY Gov and NYC Council it continues over 150 days! The workers are striking to keep what they've negotiated for over 40 years. Charter has taken a regressive approach as the strike has continued. Their proposals have decreased with a clear motive rising to the top - Union busting IBEW Local 3. Now they are sending a tech to check why I still have no phone and intermittent internet. How can a rolling black out damage equipment in my home? They are coming on Friday to check it out. I am one of many who experienced this outage. My son living miles away lost his and a friend living over a hundred miles away lost hers. I am disabled on oxygen 24/7 and need to be able to contact an ambulance if I need one. What the heck happened? The best part is the techs have all said that Charter is well aware of this problem but refuses to acknowledge it. I am paying $170 a month and supposedly am still in the promotional pricing?!!! If I want the same price I need to downgrade to a 100mb at half the speed. There have many complaints out there about their 100mb internet speed. I was told by Spectrum rep. I can pay 60 dollars more for the 300. So I have to go backwards? I discussed their new 29.99 plan each. It does not include the 300mb, or the DVRs throughout the house. Spectrum even eliminated the Whole House DVR claiming they could not support it. Funny I would be charged 5 each box, then 10 each DVR in my four rooms. That's much more than I'm paying. If I go with them I'm paying 80 more for my bundle total with a lower speed internet. Why? Oh, but the Rep. states you get HBO, Showtime, & Cinemax for 8 bucks, lol What's the point if you use their 100mb to stream from those channels it's slow as heck. Even the on demand is a bit slow at 200mb. Spectrum is a rip off and screwing TWC & Brighthouse customers.

Hey thanks for taking over my Time Warner account. I can now barely load this webpage. Perhaps I should choose another cable company as our economy is governed by a free market. Oh wait it's not and I can't choose another cable company. I guess I'll wait another 3 years for the brand to change again.

I'm sitting here with a screen that says,service will be back available shortly going on for about an hour now. Tech support said it could be down for an hour to 6,7,8,10 hrs. Due to maintenance.Ive had this crappy company for yrs and am very sick of them. Everything about charter/Sprectum sucks.

I've had spectrum charter what ever the hell you call yourselves these day.I pay $174.00 for this crap. It's rare to find a damn movie I care to watch, so I don't know why I have HBO,Cinmax,ShowTime and whatever else I get. Never a damn thing worth watching.plenty of sports channels which I never watch, I hate sports. Plenty of Mexican channels. I hate Mexican channels.Oh and I've been watching a blank screen for past 45 minutes cause its down for freaking maintenance. Tech support said it could be out for an hour 2hrs 3,4,5,6,7,8,9,10 hrs. Who the f%@k knows. In other words it'll be back on when it comes back on. I'm so freaking sick of stupid spectrum.Soon as I talk to another cable company its goodbye freaking Spectrectum. Yall suck ass. And have sucked for a decade.

Charter Spectrum is junk.. I feel like they purposely drop speeds & make things like the apps (HBOGO, ESPN) not work on purpose. FU@# CHARTER!

Hour on the phone with charter or spectrum whatever they call themselves this week to make 2nd service appointment in a week, stupid moron resets my cable box and now I have no TV! The last guy here cut two of my lines to the spare rooms without my knowledge, now they want to charge me to hook them up? Then I was told it's an FCC rule that an outlet not in use can't have cable hooked to it! I can't move my computer or TV to a different room without paying some idiot to hook up a service that I had hooked up! $@#$@ They make no sense at all! Poor quality TV that cuts out, no sound half of the time, cable box resets itself in the middle of watching something. Price increase #2 since March, time to cut the cable, I'd rather put that money towards something worthwhile.

I use this email in a professional capacity and it cannot continue like this.

Must agree. Internet was out for 22 hours due to "outage -7 hours" and misconfiguration of download provisions. CUSTOMER NO SERVICE lied all day about updates. And this is for a business...

After all the years of using directtv, dish, and other cable companies and hearing that dharter has the worst customer service in America, I've found within weeks having had to sign up with them that they ate dogs. 50 Mexican channels I can't understand and don't want or pay for yer english donw home channels that we what to whatch they what $12.00 + a year for EACH!!!!!! This is why illeagel immagrrettes are dieinf in Wal-Mart parking lots. So Charter can offer the servers free Mexican channels for dirt cheap pay. 1 Asshole company!

Just want to say that I've been Charter free for the past three months and it's been splendid. AT&T just installed fiber and offered me 1GB for $70 FOR LIFE!!!

TV and Internet both have went out a good five times or more today. Called Charter for them to have a "tech" come out tomorrow. Their "tech" will most likely check the signal...

TV and Internet both have went out a good five times or more today. Called Charter for them to have a "tech" come out tomorrow. Their "tech" will most likely check the signal strength and split a few ends and leave without resolving the problem, as usual. This has been an on-going problem for YEARS and Charter still has not fixed it. If you only want TV, get a Dish... more reliable than Charter.
